Africa's immense extension means that there are huge climatic variations depending on the region. The countries around the equator, for instance, experience typical tropical weather with dry and wet seasons, whereas northern Africa has areas with the same weather of southern Europe.

A good time to visit the Sahara and the arid parts of Central Africa is from October to February, although you should expect cold nights. That's also the best season for enjoying summer in southern Africa and the west African coast.
