Bitter End Yacht Club Overview
Escape is the year-round notion of the Bitter End Yacht Club, on the island of Virgin Gorda, which welcomes and entertains those seeking the wind in their sails and the sand between their toes, as the British Virgin Islands' most luxurious resort for watersports and relaxation alike. Whether getting away from it all to you means fun and activity, a barefoot walk down the shoreline, or sitting back in a sunlounger and inhaling a fresh breath of salty air, consider this the be-all and Bitter End-all.
Sailing, snorkelling, windsurfing and fishing should be enough to keep the big kids and little ones with you happy - the resort has its own fleet of 100 boats (including Freedom 30 sailboats, Bradley 22 powerboats, and an eight-passenger racing sailboat) and even its own sailing school accredited by the US Sailing Association - while the more easygoing of the family might like to enjoy Bitter End's Spa for waterfront yoga sessions, exquisite aromatherapy massages, and an array of manicures, pedicures and facial treatments. The resort also offers helicopter tours of the surrounding islands.
Adding to the variety and indeed seclusion, the resort is set out as a typical Caribbean beachfront village, with vibrantly-coloured buildings perched on 75 acres of lush hillside. A mile-long beachline is also fully furnished with teak deck chairs, and one of the resort's beaches, shaded from the Atlantic winds, provides still waters for the swimmers.
