Garden Route Fly-Drive Tour

DAYS 1 – 4: Commodore Hotel / Deluxe Room / Bed & Breakfast

‘Fresh seafood & quality regional wine’

Just 300m from the V&A Waterfront discover your first hotel of the trip in the heart of Cape Town, located 25 minutes from the airport and only five minutes from the city centre. The Commodore affords panoramic views of Table Bay and Table Mountain, and is decorated in a nautical theme. It boasts an outdoor swimming pool and sauna, gym and massage facilities. Apart from a breakfast buffet, Clipper Restaurant serves an à la carte menu of fresh seafood dishes and quality regional wines. The Admiralty Bar and Lounge provides a 24-hour cocktail menu. The hotel’s accommodation comprises 236 elegantly appointed standard rooms & suites.

Rooms on the Deluxe Floors contain everything you would be accustomed to and more. Upgraded amenities, bathroom with enticing walk-in showers, private balconies, sweeping views of either Table Mountain, Robben Island, Signal Hill or the V&A Waterfront and its colorful harbour.

DAYS 4 – 5: Harbour House Hotel / Harbour House Luxury Room / Bed & Breakfast

‘Whale watching & shark diving’

Transfer one and a half hours from Cape Town International Airport to Hermanus, one the region’s best whale-watching sites during whale season, as well as shark cage diving. Found in the heart of the historic village, Harbour House Hotel is just footsteps from a range of fine restaurants, fun attractions and activities. The hotel has been designed to reflect its original architecture: a thatched-roof seaside manor house dating back to 1920.

Rooms afford panoramic views of Walker Bay and the ocean from the front of the new wing and the penthouse level at the back. Generously sized suites complete with lounge area, kitchenette, tea & coffee facilities, personal bar and en-suite bathroom with separate bath & shower. Lounge area with flat screen TV and satellite television (selected channels), wireless internet, air-conditioning and a private balcony with chairs. All rooms feature king/twin sized beds.

DAYS 5 – 7: La Plume Guest House / Luxury Room / Bed & Breakfast

‘Witness watercolor sunsets from the veranda’

Welcome to an original 1902 Victorian homestead, today the setting for a working ostrich, alfalfa and vine farm. This charming guest house affords lovely views of the Swartberg Mountains. Step out on a private farm tour, witness the watercolor sunset from the veranda or kick back in the salt-water pool. Sumptuous cuisine in tranquil countryside surroundings, designed to appeal to all the senses. Like the boundless Karoo landscape – reaching from the veranda across the Olifant’s River valley to the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains on the horizon – accommodations at La Plume Guest House are spacious and offer a cooling escape from the hot Karoo sun. Activities are plentiful, including bird watching and hiking amid the fynbos and rare succulents, mountain biking, cycling, and leisurely walks.

Complete with private entrances and sun-trap verandas, the luxury rooms are found dotted throughout the verdant gardens. Each uniquely furnished room is appointed with the plushest fabrics to contrast the various woods present in the antiques. Occupancy is two persons in king or twin beds.

DAYS 7 – 10: Hog Hollow Country Lodge / Standard Suite / Bed & Breakfast

‘Embraced by the warmth of the African sun’

Along the world-famous Garden Route holiday destination lies Hog Hollow Country Lodge & Villa, just 18km east of the coastal enclave of Plettenberg Bay town, on the edge of indigenous forest and showcasing gorgeous views of the valley landscape and towering Tsitsikamma Mountains. The villa at Hog Hollow is 400m from the main Lodge and overlooks the forests and mountains, perfect for travelling families or three couples.

The sixteen suites are all located in the gardens around the main house. Decorated with an earthy colour palette, with handy-crafts and original artefacts throughout, all feature king size beds (or twin if you prefer), a well-stocked mini bar and a sound system. Chill out on the private wooden deck listening to the sounds of a garden chirping with life, embraced by the warmth of the African sun.
