The Bahamas is synonymous with wonderful beaches. If you’re looking for the idyllic tropical paradise to host your wedding, or maybe a romantic sun-soaked honeymoon getaway, then a holiday in the Bahamas can certainly provide. You can’t see all the beaches in one trip though, so you’re going to need to know which ones best suits your needs…
Stella Maris Beach
The dazzling beaches that make up Stella Maris are quite small but are definitely beautifully formed. Occasionally quite rocky, the beaches feature pretty astonishing black ironshore formations that put an abrupt halt to the pounding waves and send the white spray skywards. The sand on the beach can be coarse but its subtle pink tint sits in wonderful contrast to the deep blue Atlantic waters that surround it.
Pink Sands Beach
Speaking of “pink” and “sands” this beach has three or so miles of thoroughly pink-powdered coastline and is generally thought to be one of the best beaches in the whole of the Bahamas. Just to prove that last sentence no idle boast, it’s won a host of awards to back up its claim. These include appearing in the Travel Channel’s “World’s Best Beaches” segment.
The Abaco region of the Bahamas abounds in amazing beaches. There’s the Bluff House Beach located near Turtle Cay, Hope Town Harbour Lodge in Elbow Cay and the wonderfully named Schooner’s Landing Resort Beach, which is just a short ferry ride from Great Abaco. We’ve plumped for Tahiti Beach as our favourite. This private wonder is all powder-soft sand and shimmering azure waters, and, is quiet enough so that you can thoroughly enjoy it all at your own pace.
Love Hill Beach
Andros is home to some of the finest beaches in the region and for those looking for a particularly flourishing piece of Bahamian vegetation they should look no further than Love Hill Beach. Wandering on for miles, the white sand of the loving hill is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings that the beautiful island has to offer.
