The Royal family are keen visitors of the Caribbean islands, for both business or pleasure. It just goes to show that even if you grew up in a palace, it’s nice to escape to the tropics every now and again. Our travel experts have done their research to compile a list of resorts that have been given the royal stamp of approval, so you can live like a king or queen on your next holiday to the Caribbean.

Cotton House in Mustique

Located on a private island, just off the coast of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Cotton House is a luxury five-star boutique resort that offers an elegant family-friendly setting. Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children are regular guests at the resort, as it’s reported to be the couple’s favourite place to holiday in the Caribbean. The quiet hotel is the perfect place for the family as it offers plenty of amenities to keep everyone busy. Prince George and his little brother and sister, Charlotte and Louis, have enjoyed splashing out in their own private swimming pool, while mum and dad are reportedly avid fans of the hotel’s diving programme.

Round Hill Hotel in Jamaica

Back in 2017 Prince Harry and his then girlfriend, Meghan Markle, jetted off to Jamaica to attend a friend’s wedding. The pair checked into the iconic Round Hill Hotel in Montego Bay, the same property the festivities were taking place. The Jamaica hotel sits on 110 acres of luscious greenery, and features its own private bay. Kenwood Travel’s experts would have suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in-waiting book the Grand Pineapple Villa Suite, an impressive accommodation surrounded by a tropical garden, and stunning views of the ocean. This particular suite would have been ideal for the pair as the villa is one of the more private residences in the hotel.

Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada

During their most recent Caribbean tour, Prince Charles and Camilla stayed the illustrious Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall reportedly checked-into the Cinnamon Suite, a 1440 sq. ft accommodation located right on the edge of the ocean. The luxury Grenada resort has also hosted other members of the royal family, including Princess Anne and Prince Harry. The Queen herself also visited the property during her very first royal Caribbean tour back in 1966.

Blue Waters in Antigua

The multi-award-winning Antigua resort has hosted plenty of famous and royal faces, including Prince Harry who visited the luxury property during his 2016 tour to the Caribbean. The family-owned resort offers a charming beachfront location with opulent cottages looking over the Caribbean Sea. Harry reportedly stayed in one of the Rock Cottages, an elegant two-bedroom villa with a fresh and minimal décor. In 2012, the Queen awarded Blue Waters with the Royal Jubilee Award for its significant contribution to the island.

The Half Moon in Jamaica

The luxury Jamaica Hotel is reportedly a favourite for multiple members of the royal family. The Queen, Prince Philip, Princess Margaret, Prince Charles and Camilla are frequent visitors to the beachfront property. The colonial-style estate truly reflects a luxury Caribbean resort, with a two-mile private white sand beach and an old-world charm throughout the hotel. Our travel experts would have chosen The Rose Hall Villas for the royals, as it’s one of the grander spaces as well as the most secluded. The villa is also equipped with a private pool, a personal cook and butler.
