The parent company of Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts widens their range by transforming the former Couples Resort in St. Lawrence into a Sandals Resort and building a brand new Beaches Resort on a former Almond Beach Resort in St. Peter.
Sandals Resorts Chairman, Mr. Gordon “Butch” Stewart, explained that the 10-acre former Couples property is to be opened as a Sandals Luxury Included® Resort. He assured that it honours all existing commitments with guests who had booked to stay at Couples up until November 6th, when the new Sandals Barbados takes over.
Stewart expressed the company’s delight to finally open their first, and second, ever resorts in “this wonderful country of Barbados.”
“Barbados and its people are so rich in culture, charm and personality and has been one of the leaders in Caribbean tourism for decades.” The negotiations had been held for months with the Barbados Government and finally lead to a success.
