We’re super impressed with where former Man United and England defender Rio Ferdinand chose for his proposal to fiancé Kate Wright. The helipad on the roof of St. Regis Abu Dhabi takes some beating for atmosphere. The romance reached new heights when Rio got down on one knee during the couple’s candlelit rooftop dinner. Perhaps the love birds opted for the St. Regis for their Abu Dhabi holiday because they knew that all room categories at this superb hotel come with a personal butler. So no matter what level of accommodation they booked, they’d be guaranteed that extra touch of romance.

Personally we’ve never made it up to the roof (255 metres above the Abu Dhabi streets) to check out the helipad, but we hear the destination dining service up there is just breath-taking. Jack and Dani stole our hearts as king and queen of ITV2’s Love Island 2018. Now it seems they’re stealing our travel plans.
