Curtain Bluff Antigua Luxury Holidays

What sets Curtain Bluff in Antigua apart from other luxury five-star resorts is the impeccable service from a long-standing and dedicated team of staff. Privately owned for over 50 years and described variously in the press as the ‘grande dame of luxury Antiguan resorts' and 'famously friendly and intimate,' you're certainly in for a unique experience. With such friendly and obliging staff it’s little wonder that Curtain Bluff has become one of the leading exclusive resorts in the Caribbean.

Each of the seventy-two suites and rooms, peppered atop the bluff, are all-inclusive, and the amount of activities on offer is astounding. You’ll enjoy four tennis courts all floodlit, yoga, squash, pool, croquet and an extensive range of watersports (both motorised and non-motorised). Complimentary equipment is offered, as is instruction, for all of your watersport needs including windsurfing, Sunfish Hobie Cats, sea kayaks, water-skiing, and snorkelling. For certified divers the equipment will also be included. Golf is available locally at Cedar Valley and Jolly Harbour.

Food & Drink

The Sea Grape Restaurant

Located down by the beach with views across the ocean to Montserrat, this eatery is open for lunch. In the evening this beach side restaurant offers a relaxed dining experience with cuisine influenced from local Antiguan and Italian flavours. Choose from a varied menu with delicious items such as Pesce Spada alla Griglia (char-grilled swordfish with warm parsley vinaigrette) or Gelato made locally at Curtain Bluff, under the guidance of an Italian chef Timo. It is open 4 nights a week Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 7:00 - 9:30pm.

The Tamarind Tree

The main restaurant looks out over a terrace canopied by the spreading limbs of a majestic tamarind tree. The menu includes favorites like banana pancakes, French toast and Eggs Benedict, plus traditional island dishes, fresh juices and fruit. All breads, croissants and pastries are freshly baked by the accomplished pastry chef. At dinner, the five-course menu (which changes every night) always includes salads, locally caught fish, outstanding meats, healthy options and so many desserts they have their own menu. Each evening there is a different band and, as diners filter out of the restaurant, the tempo builds and couples dance in the moonlight.

Wine Cellar

Like the other alcoholic beverages, the excellent house wines are included in the room rate. But for those aficionados looking for a truly special wine, Curtain Bluff keeps one of the finest cellars in the Caribbean, stocked with over 25,000 bottles priced between $US 50 and $US 2,000. The sommelier, George Williams, has trained in France and the California wine country. He now oversees the purchasing, storage and serving of an extensive selection of wines from around the world. Ask him for a tour of the cellar or join one of George’s wine tastings held in the cellar’s tasting room on Friday afternoons.
