Taj Cape Town

5* out of 5 stars

Taj Hotels Group’s glowing reputation is built on a foundation of authentic Indian hospitality and taste. As such their hotels take luxury further, and Taj Cape Town is no exception. Incorporating the classic architecture and many fine interior features of the historic 19th century buildings that house the hotel, the downtown location of this refined property puts you at the heart of the city’s dining, entertainment and museum scenes.

There are several room types making up the hotel’s 176 total accommodations, and these range from sumptuous sash windows to Heritage Luxury Rooms with either mountain or city views. In these rooms guests can expect a pleasant marriage between traditional styling and contemporary design topped off with high-end mod-cons.

Taj Hotels are revered for their signature Jiva Spas – even more so when they happen to be of the Jiva Spa Grande variety. Taj Cape Town is lucky enough to be blessed with Africa’s first spa of this type and as such pampers and indulges guests amazingly. The soothing treatments are based on Indian wellness practices that derive from ancient healing wisdom and Ayurveda. Drift into true relaxation and emerge anew.

Sublime Indian cooking is, understandably, evident among the superb dining options at Taj Cape Town. Bombay Brasserie sees to this with its ‘melody of flavours’ drawn from authentic Tandoor recipes. The sumptuous flavours are only matched by the restaurant's luxuriant décor. Twankey Bar and Mint Restaurant, meanwhile, serve tasty seafood tapas and local dishes respectively.
