The Lanzerac Hotel & Spa is set of 155 hectares of stunning landscape and is found in the Winelands where impressive mountains preside over a stunning landscape. The Lanzerac Estate has been in this beautiful patch of South Africa for 300 years and is still very much a working wine makers today. The hotel ensures that every moment of your stay will be laced with lavishness.

Rooms have been sumptuously decorated with antiques that echo perfectly the Cape Dutch architectural style that permeates throughout the hotel. Each room boasts its own private patio that looks out across the estate’s impressive vineyards and the mighty Helderberg Mountains. Rooms also come complete with a range of modern conveniences including televisions, a mini bar, full air conditioning and an electronic safe for your peace of mind.

The spa at Lanzerac is an out of this world experience in total relaxation. The vigilantly chosen treatments live up to exacting standards, whether it’s a rejuvenating facial or a relaxing massage you will be treated to an extraordinary experience. The restaurants here meanwhile are similarly of an extremely high standard. The Governors Hall offers regal fine dining with classics such as braised lamb steak and beef fillet medallions on the menu.

Of course, as with many hotels in the area, Lanzerac is synonymous with exquisite wines. The cellar here boasts an immaculate range of superlative wines that will take your breath away. Fans of a good red will love the vintage 2011 Merlot which has beautiful undertones of red berries while the 2012 Chardonnay is perfect for those who enjoy a more citrussy tipple.

Classic Room

There are 26 Classic Rooms available that offer king size or twin single beds. Rooms are 26 sq. meters of space and well-appointed. The facilities yield to every possible need with international direct dial telephone, electronic safe, a mini bar, DSTV, and air-conditioning. Rooms are en-suite with spacious built in baths. Classic decorating and genuine antiques perfectly complement the distinguished Cape Dutch architecture. Every room opens out onto a private patio that overlooks landscaped gardens, rows of vineyards and the majestic Helderberg Mountains. The Classic Rooms are opulence and comfort at its best.

Luxury Room

There are 15 Luxury Rooms that are 40 sq. meters of space. Rooms are en-suite and offer a classical bathroom with ball and claw baths and a walk-in cupboard. Every need is catered for with a bath and separate shower, international direct dial telephone, electronic safe, a mini bar, DSTV, and air-conditioning. Our Luxury Rooms place a focus on elegance and old-world style. Classic decorating and genuine antiques have been chosen to perfectly match the region’s most distinguished examples of Cape Dutch architecture. All rooms have their own private patio with either vineyard or mountain views. Rooms either offer a king sized bed or twin ¾ beds.

Junior Suite

There are 5 Junior Suites all offering 60 sq. meters of space. Suites have a semi-separate lounge and bedroom with a TV and selected DSTV satellite in the lounge. All you need during your visit is catered for. Junior Suites have a private bath and separate shower, international direct dial telephone, electronic safe, a mini bar, and climate controlled air-conditioning. Rooms have classic interior decor with genuine antique pieces. Every room has a private patio that overlooks the estate and immerses you in the surroundings. Perfect lush gardens, rows of vineyards and jagged mountain tops are all you see for miles.

Suite

The Suite is generously 80 sq. meters of living space and overlooks some of the best views of the estate’s landscaped gardens to the front of the room. The Royal Pool suite defines privacy with its enclosed courtyard with its own private swimming pool. The courtyard has a table for outdoor dining and loungers around the pool. Guests’ every need is catered for with a private bath and separate shower, international direct dial telephone, electronic safe, a mini bar, a state-of-the-art TV and sound system, DSTV, and air-conditioning.

Food & Drink

Lanzerac Deli

Indulge in the heart of the Cape Winelands with the very best in fresh, artisan produce. Breads, cakes and pastries will be baked daily, tempting guests each day with the aroma of freshly baked produce and aromatic coffee. Delicious home-made jams, chutneys and sauces will be on sale so that guests can purchase their best tastes of Lanzerac. Guests will be treated to a selection of delectable deli items, where diners can create their own sandwich or platter for lunch from the selection of charcuterie and cheeses on offer. Picnic baskets will also be available to be enjoyed in the Deli’s garden overlooking the vineyards.

Manor Kitchen

At the Manor Kitchen, you can indulge in an opulent buffet breakfast or treat themselves to classical dinner dishes reimagined with contemporary influences and comprised of the very best local, seasonal ingredients. Diners will get a glimpse of the creativity that goes into preparing these appetizing meals through the large-scale windows that look in on the kitchen’s operations. With craftsmanship and artistry, the chefs bring imaginative concepts into tangible forms, marrying the perfect balance of unique flavours and textures.

The Craven Lounge

The Craven Lounge offers a home away from home environment where guests can relax with a newspaper, whilst enjoying cup of tea or coffee. Aptly named after Daniël Hartman Craven, who was arguably South Africa’s best-known rugby administrator, the Craven Lounge is a true representation of South African heritage. Daniël Hartman Craven coached the Springboks between 1949 and 1956 and became one of the most successful Springbok coaches of all time. The elegant hotel lounge seats 20 people and features genuine antiques, a grand piano, a roaring fireplace and rugby memorabilia hanging on the walls. Most guests opt to end their evenings by indulging in a choice of coffees and cognacs served in the elegant Craven Lounge.

The Taphuis Bar

The Taphuis is a historic Cape country bar that is one of the oldest bars in the Western Cape. Both barmen have worked at the hotel for over 40 years, so guests can enjoy a pre-dinner drink listening to all the tales of the different eras of the hotel. The Taphuis is the Lanzerac Hotel’s main bar and it seats 22 guests at the bar counter and 14 guests at tables. The authentic Cape country bar is open daily and into the evening during summer and winter. The interior is richly decorated with antique yellow wood furniture and has a huge Cape Dutch fireplace as the centrepiece. This fabulous Cape Dutch styled dining area offers a seamless flow and spacious room ideal for long romantic dinners or cosy drinks and small talk around the fire.
