AmaWaterways Brochure
From the great rivers of Europe to some of the world’s most exotic locations, AmaWaterways has redefined river cruising for a new generation. Its cruises are designed for the luxury traveller who wants to delve deeper into a destination. Whether it’s the vineyards of the south of France or a safari tour on the Chobe River. There is a world of choice with AmaWaterways.
Five facts about AmaWaterways
- AmaWaterways operates on rivers right around the world, from the major rivers of Europe to Asia and Africa. In 2024 the company will launch cruises on the Magdalena River in Colombia, the first company to do so.
- AmaWaterways was the river cruise line in the world to have a fleet of complimentary bicycles on board, part of its wellness and fitness programme.
- The company offers a number of specialist cruises including a concierge golf programme, including tee times at some of Europe’s top courses.
- AmaWaterways always offers a pre- or post-cruise cruise land stay option. In many destinations, such as the Mekong, it offers stays in Hanoi and Siem Reap to really make the most of your adventure.
- AmaWaterways includes a sightseeing excursion in every port so you’ll always get the chance to delve into a destinations history with a local expert.
Who is an AmaWaterways cruise for?
AmaWaterways is for a traveller who wants an intimate experience, both on and off the ship. If the idea of crowds leaves you cold, then an AmaWaterways cruise could be for you. Ships typically take no more than 180 guests while docking in a destination – as opposed to the nearest cruise port – means it is much easier to go off an explore on your own.
Gourmands will not be disappointed either. The food onboard is fantastic, with guests able to choose between the main restaurant or a more gourmet option, The Chef’s Table, on most ships. The staterooms are spacious, particularly considering the limited space onboard, with the Twin Balcony cabins, which boast both a French balcony and an outside balcony, proving again why AmaWaterways is known for its innovation. For those wanting an even more enhanced experience, take a look at AmaMagna, AmaWaterways double-width ship. Everything onboard is supersized, including the suites.
Where can you sail to with AmaWaterways?
AmaWaterways has river ships operating around the world. From the hero rivers of Europe – the Rhine and Danube – through to the continent’s more romantic rivers like the Seine, Rhone and Douro. Then, further afield, the company has ships on popular exotic rivers like The Mekong in southeast Asia and Egypt’s Nile. Then there are a number of rivers that few companies operate on, like the Chobe River in Botswana, which couples a cruise with a safari for a totally unique experience. Add to that the Magdalena River in Colombia and you’ve got a programme of extraordinary journeys.
