It’s rare that we see a new ultra-luxury cruise line launch, but that’s exactly what we’re getting with Explora Journeys.
Explora I, II and II have 461 suites, with each one boasting its own balcony. The suites range from Ocean Suites right through to the vast Owner’s Residence, which has a balcony that stretches across the entire width of the ship (the suite and terrace together are 280 square metres). No matter which category guests book on to, they will be met with a refined European elegance, that wouldn’t look out of place in the luxury hotels of Milan and Rome. Their every whim will be catered to, whether that’s in one of the ships six restaurants or 12 bars. There is also the chance to dine in Anthology, a restaurant dedicated to remarkable guest chefs, like three-Michelin star Mauro Uliassi.
Explora Journeys suits travellers used to life’s finer things – who have a European attitude to children being present at dinner time. The decor is sumptuous. The bars are beautiful and there’s even a whisky bar with walk-in humidor and dedicated smoking terrace.
The wellness facilities are industry leading. The gym is decked out with Technogym Artis equipment and the open-air sports court is perfect for a game of touch tennis or a yoga session. Ocean Wellness, the spa, has facilities including a Finnish sauna, salt cave and an ice fall. All in all, this cruise line has it all.
Guests will be able to sail with Explora Journeys all over the world. However, they might have to wait until the company has a few more ships to do it. Once it reaches its eventual seven ships - and potentially more beyond that - there will no doubt be cruises around the world.
