  • Day 1

    Arrive at Kuching

    Welcome to Kuching, the capital of Sarawak in Malaysia. You will be met by your local representative who will take you to your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is free for you to relax.

  • Day 2

    Kuching City Tour

    After breakfast, you will be met by your guide to embark on a half day tour of Kuching’s many sights. The perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, explore some of its highlights including vibrant Kuching Chinatown, the iconic cat statues (Kuching means cat in Malaysian), the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple and the Sarawak Museum. On your return, admire the golden-domed City Mosque, passing through the old part of the city which is filled with spice traders and textile shops.

    You will also see beautiful heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, including the Pavilion, the Court House, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office as well as viewing the former residence of the White Rajahs from across the river.

    Continue your adventure on the water with a river cruise along the Sarawak River offering unparalleled views of the city as you go. Return to the hotel with the rest of the day is free.

  • Day 3

    Bako National Park

    After an early breakfast, depart for a full day excursion to the breathtaking Bako National Park.

    Located 1.5 hours away from the city, the national park is home to seven distinct rainforest ecosystems with a plethora animal and plant life. Its most famous residents are the proboscis monkeys known for their bizarre noses. Bako National Park also houses a number of other primates including silvered langurs and long-tailed macaque monkeys as well as wild boar, monitor lizards and countless different species. There is also a range of fascinating plant life from mangroves to carnivorous pitcher plants and strangling figs.

    The landscapes are truly beautiful with unique geological features dotting the coastline and well-trodden paths through tropical jungle to spectacular beaches.

  • Day 4

    Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre

    Today is a wonderful day visiting the Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and its semi-wild orangutans who have been rescued from captivity. They have been rehabilitated to roam freely in the rainforest but often returning for feeding time in the centre. On the way you will also stop at ethnobotanical gardens which has a number of spectacular rainforest plants.

    This afternoon return to the hotel where the rest of the day is free to enjoy.

  • Day 5

    Kuching

    The next two days are free for you to explore Kuching. Wander its narrow streets and admire the mix of architecture, stroll along the river and feast on delicious Malaysian cuisine.
    You can also head to the Main Bazaar and pick up traditionally-made crafts to take home.

  • Day 7

    Sarawak Cultural Village Tour

    Your last day is spent at the award-winning living museum showcasing the unique cultures of Sarawak. Located 35 minutes from Kuching, this 17-acre site has 7 traditional buildings populated by Sarawak’s different ethnic groups who live here. Visitors can learn about their traditional activities including how to throw a Malay spinning top, shoot a Penan blowpipe or strum a tune on an Oran Ulu Sape. You can see different art forms from bamboo carving to beadwork and even the preparation of bird’s bests. The tour ends with a multi-ethnic cultural performance in the village theatre.

  • Day 8

    Depart Kuching

    Today your transfer will take you to the airport for your departure flight.
