Hit the best food spots at each stop on your journey, shopping at bustling markets and getting hands-on cooking experience, as well as tasting the street foods and Penang dishes that were such a formative part of Chef Musa's upbringing and career.

Full Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Kuala Lumpur

    Accommodation: The Majestic Kuala Lumpur (Deluxe Room, Breakfast Basis)

    Arrive at Kuala Lumpur Airport and take a land transfer to your hotel, where you will stay that night and the next. Experience a Colonial Walk and Afternoon Tea experience at either the Orchid Conservatory, The Tea Lounge, or the Drawing Room, each of which are venues at this beautiful hotel. This is your introduction to the food and culture of Malaysia, with plenty of opportunity to visit the local markets and attractions, and get your first taste of traditional Malaysian dinners.

  • Day 3

    Terengganu

    Accommodation: Tanjong Jara Resort (Serambi Room, Breakfast Basis)

    After a land transfer of approximately 5 hours, arrive at the Tanjong Jara Resort by the sea, steeped in age-old Malay traditions. Here, along with your Breakfast Basis accommodation, you’ll enjoy a Dinner on the Beach experience with a delicious set menu, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the ocean.

    On a morning, embark on the Secrets of a Malay Kitchen tour with Chef Ann, consisting of a trip to a local market, tasting of local breakfast favourites, and an afternoon cooking class with the chef at Di Atas Sungei. This is where you'll discover the unique flavours of Terranganu, from the local food scene to particularly iconic dishes like Nasi Dagang.

    You will also take advantage of a cocktail hour on a day of your choice, and a one-time 50 minute spa treatment per person.

  • Day 7

    Malacca

    Accommodation: The Majestic Malacca (Deluxe Room, Breakfast Basis)

    Embark on a land transfer from Tanjong Jara Resort to The Majestic Malacca, approximately 6.5 hours. Enjoy a Historical Walk around local sites, appreciating the history and culture in this region of Malaysia, as well as a Kirstang Culinary Journey that includes a visit to the local market and cooking classes, giving you a chance to sample local specialties and learn to cook them. This is a region where the historic influences show strongly in the cuisine, from the Kristang food of the Portuguese Settlement to the famous fresh seafood of coastal Umbai.

  • Day 9

    Penang

    Accommodation: The Eastern & Oriental Penang (Deluxe Suite, Breakfast Basis)

    Leave The Majestic Malacca on a 7-8 hour transfer with two rest stops. The first stop is at Kuala Kangsar, where multiple shops and a food court are present; please note that entry fees and meals here are not included. The second stop is at the highway, where you may purchase local fruits and snacks. You will arrive at The Eastern & Oriental Penang, where the remainder of your nights on this itinerary will be spent. Your time in Penang will be a sensory masterpiece, introducing you to world-famous street foods like char koay teow and Penang laksa.

    On your first day here, head out on a Heritage Walking Tour complete with food sampling, which will include a visit to the Vibrant Chowrasta Market – the largest Pasar in Penang – as well as entrance fees to the gorgeous Khoo Kongsi temple. Please note that no transfers are provided for this tour. In the afternoon, you will head to Butterworth by coach, exploring the town with an English-speaking guide to provide insight into the history of this travel hub.

    On your further days staying in Penang, take a day trip to Penang Island, visiting the Kek Lok Si Temple – the largest in Malaysia – as well as the outstanding views of Penang Hill, the rainforest discovery centre The Habitat, and a trip into the UNESCO Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve with 2 private nature guides. This is inclusive of entrance fees and incline lift charges to Kek Lok Si Temple, the Penang Hill funicular train ticket, and lunch at Penang Hill itself.

    Your tour will terminate with a land transfer from Eastern & Oriental Penang to the Penang Airport.
