Located adjacent to one of Grenada's best beaches, L'Anse Aux Épines, Calabash Hotel is an explorer's paradise. Its collection of 30 exclusively-designed suites, arranged in Calabash's signature horseshoe shape, are elegant with a distinctive home-from-home feel. Calabash is surrounded by foliage that provides scenery from every suite. The unique choice of having breakfast on your private balcony or patio, or on the beach, assures you that you are in for a special treat at this hotel. Lunch is also a delight at The Beach Club where guests can choose from a range of delicious tapas. In the evening, dinner at Gary Rhodes’ on-site restaurant includes mouth-watering dishes complemented by an al fresco atmosphere.
Things to do at Calabash Hotel
Along with tennis courts, a fitness room and shuffleboard, guests will find a bocce ball and putting green, plus a giant chess board on the sand. Weekly activities also include sailing lessons, stretch classes, yoga and garden tours. Plus the hotel has teamed up with Scubatech to offer its guests daily water-fun activities. Adventures around the island can be arranged through the hotel’s concierge services. A marvelous island of contrast, the north offers natural gems while the south features Grenada's hub of bars, restaurants and nightlife. Children are not left out of the entertainment. The family-run hotel has come up with a range of activities to keep kids busy. The kids’ concierge can arrange cookery classes, hobie cat sailing lessons, kayaking, movie nights, arts and crafts, or even campfires with roasted marshmallows.
Sea & Spa at Calabash Hotel
If you wander into the waters that surround the island, you’ll find an underwater adventureland, which features gardens of coral, old shipwrecks and the world's very first underwater sculpture park - and snorkeling and diving trips can easily be arranged through Scubatech. After a hard day's adventure, The Spa at Calabash is a masterclass in holistic therapy, now using Elemis skincare products from the UK. Relax as you listen to the lap of the waves, putting you into a peaceful state of mind.
A Healthy Stay at Calabash Hotel
Of course, the health and happiness of both guests and staff remains a top priority for Calabash. Whilst housekeeping and hygiene has always been of the highest standard (even winning the resort awards), there have been some recent changes put in place to increase comfort and safety even further. These include: leaving rooms two days in-between guests to facilitate deep-cleaning; providing complimentary sanitiser, as well as masks and gloves for both staff and guests; operating open air restaurants at a lower capacity to reinforce social distancing; and continuing to check guests in in their suites.
