Le Meridien Ile Maurice
Le Méridien Ile Maurice is a secluded, beachfront resort on the northwest coast of Mauritius in the heart of Pointe aux Piments. It lies on a 1km stretch of white sand, with the private beach just a few steps away from the 261 rooms and suites. Each room/suite has a balcony or terrace with views over either the garden or sparkling Indian Ocean.
All guests have use of the two outdoor pools. Those staying in the adults-only part of the resort have access to a third outdoor pool. These guests also have an extra bar and beach area to enjoy. The lush grounds that Le Méridien Ile Maurice sits within are open to everyone, creating a sense of tropical tranquillity.
There are four restaurants to choose from here. The main venue serves international cuisine, with a Pan-Asian restaurant boasting a dreamy beachfront setting. Then there's the beachfront, al à carte option that serves Mauritian dishes for dinner. And finally, a poolside restaurant with an authentic Indian menu. Meanwhile, it's romance that's on the menu with a private dining experience on the jetty.
One of the resort's most popular facilities is the spa. It offers a range of treatments, plus a sauna, steam room, plunge pool, salon, and yoga and relaxation area.
Things to do at Le Méridien Ile Maurice
There's something fun for everyone at Le Méridien Ile Maurice. Work up a sweat in the fitness centre and with a variety of beach games and sports, such as tennis, table tennis, and volleyball. The kids club keeps younger members of the group happy and entertained.
Also on offer at the resort are watersports such as water-skiing, kayaking, windsurfing and sailing. Excursions including glass-bottom boat tours on Grand Bay and snorkelling and scuba diving can be arranged.
The island's capital, Port Louis, is around 30 minutes away by car. And Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport can be reached in an hour.
