CIVILIAN Hotel is a dream for lovers of the arts and is located in the centre of Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen which borders the theatre district. Theatre-inspired art can be seen throughout the hotel’s communal spaces, with striking features including light fixtures with drawings of all 41 Broadway theatres.

The 203 guest rooms sleep between two and four guests and each showcases an eclectic mix of art and photography by local artists, as well as impressive views of the Manhattan skyline. A Smart TV, sitting area, and bathroom stocked with organic bath products are included in every room. Premium room levels also come with extras such as a custom welcome amenity and daily access to a nearby health club.

The onsite restaurant offers a daily continental breakfast and contemporary American cuisine with a focus on classics such as burgers, steaks, and salads for dinner. The upstairs bar serves small bites with cocktails, while the rooftop lounge bar boasts two terraces offering amazing views over the city. After you’ve enjoyed a meal in the hotel’s restaurant, head up to the second floor and check out the space that adjoins the cocktail bar. It’s a museum of sorts, with a collection of theatrical curios from top Broadway and other stage shows.
If you upgrade your experience at CIVILIAN Hotel, you’ll get daily access to a nearby health club with a saltwater pool, sauna, steam room, and fitness equipment. It also runs a range of classes.
On the hotel’s doorstep is the famous Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood, Times Square, and the Broadway theatre district. Within a 15 to 20-minute walk are attractions like Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and the Empire State Building. With two subway stations just a short walk away, it’s easy to get out and explore other New York neighbourhoods such as Brooklyn and Queens. Also take the journey from Times Square to Battery Park in Lower Manhattan and jump aboard a ferry to Ellis Island and Liberty Island.
