Bright Angel Lodge

4* out of 5 stars

A national historic landmark, Bright Angel Lodge started off as a small hotel to accommodate arrivals from the newly built railroad and now offers an iconic place to stay in the Grand Canyon National Park. With modern comfortable rooms and cabins that celebrate its rich cultural past and an unrivalled location on the South Rim, it’s the ideal base for a Grand Canyon stay.

Accommodation at Bright Angel Lodge

Each of the 90 lodge rooms and cabins are finished with homely modern furnishings and all come with a fridge and coffee maker. Some of the more historic cabins share bathrooms, but most rooms include a private en-suite. Or take a step back in time and choose one of the lodge’s original cabins like the one-of-a-kind Buckley O’Neill Cabin built by one of Roosevelt’s Rough Riders, with its magnificent canyon views right outside the door.

Dining at Bright Angel Lodge

Within the lodge you’ll find Harvey House Café - a family-friendly spot serving all-day American diner classics, and the modern Arizona Steakhouse that celebrates the best of South West flavours with its steaks, chicken and ribs. But with the lodge’s location at Bright Angel Trail Head there are plenty of other dining options to choose from nearby. From the iconic El Tovar Dining Room, offering a fine-dining lunch and dinner menu against a rustic backdrop of Native American murals, to fast-dining food trucks, and the infamous old-fashioned ice-cream Soda Fountain just steps from the rim.

Things to do at Bright Angel Lodge

Visit the Bright Angel History Room, capturing over 100 years of local history, and spot the rock layers that replicate the Canyon on the geological fireplace. And with the national park right outside your door, there’s everything from hiking and rafting, to riding the Grand Canyon Railroad, mule rides along the South Rim, and shuttle bus trips to one of the many viewpoints and museums ready and waiting to fill your days at this iconic wonder.

Know Before You Go

It is standard practice for resorts/hotels within the USA to charge a mandatory resort fee which is payable locally. This fee can be anywhere between $5 to $50 per room per night and is not included in the cost of your Kenwood Travel holiday. Currently, the Bright Angel Lodge doesn't charge a resort fee, however this can change at any time.
