Cancun Holidays
The clear boundless sea of the Gulf of Mexico rivals the glittering ocean of any island nation. And if pristine white beaches are your thing, holidays in Cancun offer fourteen miles of prime Mexican sunbathing.
Incredible nightclubs and casinos are perfect for those who want to enjoy an action packed Mexican adventure. However there is still plenty to do if you are in search of a more relaxed escape. Riviera Maya is the ideal place to sit back and take in the sun's rays. The area is home to Mayan ruins that make for fascinating day trips as well as plenty of golf courses for you to try your swing on.
Playa del Carmen meanwhile is similarly packed with things to do. You can take excursions to go and see whale sharks in their natural habitat, see the impressive Chichen Itza, one of the wonders of the modern world, or even take some buggies for a spin through the jungle. Whether your an avid party goer or a relaxed beach connoisseur, Cancun has something for everyone.
Luxury Holidays to Cancun
Though lounging on the beach is essential and dancing in the clubs is definitely time well spent, your luxury holidays to Cancun aren’t complete without at least scratching the surface of the Mayan culture. Chichen Itza is about 2 ½ hours from Cancun, an awe-inspiring archaeological site often counted among the ‘new seven wonders of the world’. Another important site is Tulum, two hours south along the coastal road from Cancun. Many of our current portfolio of resorts are based in this stunning southern coastal area, the Riveria Maya (or ‘Mayan Riviera’).
Here, history and tropical harmony collide with ruins overlooking a pristine beach and national park. There are countless pyramids and ruins hidden all around this part of Mexico, giving holidays to Cancun a sense of mystery that separates it from the islands of the Caribbean. And once you’ve seen the sun go down in this beautiful, meaningful setting, it’s time to join the party. The hotel zone is Cancun’s answer to the Las Vegas strip, a small slither of land packed with hi-rise hotel buildings, home to several extravagant shows and host to world class performers and DJs.
Cancun Weather
If you are looking for sunny days and beach time, Cancun is the place to go. With warm temperatures all year round - an average of 27 °C - there is not a bad time for a Cancun holiday. However, if you want to avoid excessive heat, the perfect time for you to visit Cancun falls between December and April.

Things to do

Cenote Dos Ojos
A cenote is a natural cavernous sinkhole full of beautifully clear water found in Mexico and the Yucatan peninsula more specifically. These were the Mayan’s only source of water and were considered sacred by ancient civilisations. Of the many cenotes in the Cancun & Riviera Maya area, Cenote Dos Ojos is perhaps one of the most amazing places to swim and dive with its impressive network of underwater cave systems.
Cenote Dos Ojos (Two Eyes Cenote) gets its name because the two sinkholes, 70 metres in diameter, are connected by a 400 metre long passageway - giving the impression of a pair of blue eyes. Float away peacefully in the water, which is a consistent 25 °C throughout the year.

MUSA Underwater Museum
For a truly unique perspective on Cancun, take to the waters and discover MUSA (Spanish: Museo Subacuático de Arte, or the Underwater Museum of Art). Plunge beneath the waves surrounding Cancun and Isla Mujeres, and discover 500 sunken sculptures, artworks and installations. Explore and tour the museum whilst snorkelling, scuba diving, or by glass-bottomed boat.
This is a living, breathing museum with the exhibits open to the elements. Watch marine life flutter around the sculptures in a dizzying display, and see how the ocean is corroding and enveloping statues of locals, giant hands, and VW Beetles.

Visit Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is a small but perfectly formed island in the Caribbean Sea. Just 7km long and 650 metres wide, this is a paradise for beautiful beaches, super-fresh seafood, and spectacular watersports such as snorkelling and scuba diving. Head to the Garrafon National Reef Park just off the island for a real treat.
If you’d like to experience something special without taking the plunge, why not visit the Isla Mujeres turtle sanctuary and rehabilitation centre. You could also take a glass-bottomed boat ride, visit the Mercado Municipal, or go for a spot of retail therapy.
