St Vincent & Grenadines Holidays

Pure escapism is what a Grenadines holiday offers. Gone are the alarm clocks, traffic queues and rush hours of home; climb into the postcard of your dreams and adorn yourself on the unspoilt sugar white sand in classic Caribbean style. The Grenadines is part of an archipelago of 32 lush green islands speckling the turquoise Caribbean sea and waiting to be discovered by you. The astounding beauty and distinct character of the isles give it an enchanting effect, which is perhaps what made it so mesmerising for pirates. Fear not however, for long gone are pirates which once inhabited these shores... well except Hollywood ones filming ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ of course.

Things to Do in the Grenadines

Make time to visit the Owia Salt Pond located in the North Eastern coast of nearby St Vincent. The waves lapping over the volcanic rock formations are wonderfully refreshing and the pool is home to reef fish and coral formations. As the pool is protected from the waves of the sea by volcanic rock boulders, the experience is extremely peaceful.

Go whale watching across an endless landscape of azure sea. The waters are home to dolphins, sperm whales, hump back whales and pilot whales. Also visit the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary for a glimpse of these magical creatures.

Conquer the La Soufriere Volcano! This adventure takes you to the top of La Soufriere where you will experience awe-inspiring views and such euphoria found only at the summit of such incredible hikes.

Interesting Facts About the Grenadines

  • Area – 150 square miles
  • Population – 120,000
  • Currency – East Caribbean Dollar
  • Capital – Kingstown

The climate here is tropical and there are but two seasons – the rainy season and the dry season, with the dry season running from 1st November to the 1st June. June does tend to be the wettest month and April the driest. Whilst the temperature does vary throughout the islands (with St Vincent being fractionally cooler than the Grenadines) the temperature doesn’t vary drastically and remains blissfully warm all year round with January boasting an average daily temperature of 29°C and July averaging 30°C.
