Weather in Texas

A state as vast as the Texan spirit itself, Texas boasts a climate as diverse as its landscapes. With its sheer size, Texas experiences a range of weather patterns. Generally sun-drenched, it defies the arid plains of cowboy movies stereotype with surprising rainfall and occasional snow in the far west and north, whilst the major cities enjoy a subtropical climate.  In Hill Country, summers sizzle in San Antonio and Austin with highs of around 36°C, while winters see lows of 8°C, coupled with high humidity. Further east to Dallas and Fort Worth, autumn and winter bring a touch of chill, but summers are hot, muggy and rainy. In Houston, winter is milder, but the city sees more rainfall, particularly during April and May. The region is prone to hurricanes, with September bringing the most stormy weather along the Gulf coast.
