In Hill Country, summers sizzle in San Antonio and Austin with highs of around 36°C, while winters see lows of 8°C, coupled with high humidity. Further east to Dallas and Fort Worth, autumn and winter bring a touch of chill, but summers are hot, muggy and rainy. In Houston, winter is milder, but the city sees more rainfall, particularly during April and May. The region is prone to hurricanes, with September bringing the most stormy weather along the Gulf coast.
