Elephant Hills was the first luxury tented jungle camp in Thailand. It cleverly combines the model of African national parks with the tropical Thai forest environment to create hotel-comfort amid wild terrain.
The Elephant Hills Elephant Experience is a unique initiative first launched in 2010. The resort founders decided something must be done to bring an end to elephant riding for its cruelty to these gentle giants. At Elephant Hills, elephant riding is not on the agenda; instead, a much more interactive and respectful way to encounter these noble beasts is offered. Since the beginning of this initiative, Elephant Hills guests have been able to enjoy interactive experiences more uplifting and rewarding than any elephant ride you could ever take.
Included in the resort’s soft adventure tour package, guests meet the elephants up close. Observe the elephants bathing in the mud pool, use coconut fibres to scrub them clean, prepare their food and even feed them. The elephants are released back into their special roaming pen after you meet them, where you can see them play and graze freely in their natural habitat. As winners of the prestigious Animal Welfare Award, Elephant Hills’ commitment to the safe nurturing of their elephants is never in question.
The camp comprises 30 luxurious tents in the largest area of rainforest in the country’s southern region. Skilled craftsmen built the bespoke furniture within each spacious tent using natural materials. As such the styling of your abode seems interlaced with the personality and ambience of this stunning local landscape. A lively social hub, semi-open to outdoors, is located at the camp’s centre where you’ll also find a restaurant specialising in hearty Thai food.

Elephant Hills Jungle Safari (2 Days | 1 Night)
Situated right on the border of the rainforest of Khao Sok National Park, the 35 luxurious tents are tailor-made and set in the largest protected area of rainforest in Southern Thailand. Each tent features comfortable solid beds, fan, tea and coffee making facilities and a luxurious bathroom with Western style toilet, hairdryer and hot and cold shower. The furniture is handmade by our very own skilled craftsmen using natural materials and provides all the comfort you would normally find in a hotel room.
The tents have ample space, are well protected against mosquitos and other possible intruders, offer plenty of lighting and are the perfect place to reflect on the day’s observations and activities. A night at Elephant Hills is a unique experience, the temperatures drop and the campfire creates a romantic and warm atmosphere in which to share travel tales as the rainforest its inhabitants form an exciting concert.
