Koh Kood Holidays

Found in the Trat region of Thailand, Koh Kood (also known as Ko Kut) is the most easterly of the Thai Islands before the Cambodian border. Holidays to Koh Kood in the Gulf of Thailand are an unimpinged Thailand holiday, barely touched by tourism.

The island’s original inhabitants were Thais and Cambodians who fled the French invasion of Padjantakiri in the early 20th century. Today, the island keeps to its roots, quite literally, with active industry in rubber trees and coconut cultivation, as well as vibrant fishing communities.

As a natural wonder, too, Koh Kood is simply awe-inspiring. The ridged plains and mountainous landscape is dotted with tropical beaches, picturesque inlets, streams and waterfalls, including the famous three-tiered Klong Chao waterfall.

Luxury Holidays in Koh Kood

Luxury resorts in Koh Kood are guaranteed to be of the highest calibre, but do not infringe on the nature that surrounds them. Most are found in beachfront locations.

It should be said, however, that the infrastructure is less developed here in Koh Kood. Outside of your resort the offerings can be fairly rudimentary. Power cuts out frequently, there is limited internet access or shops outside the hotels, and no cash machines, so be prepared! Your resort will have everything you need, keeping you in pristine style, but it’s an excitingly wild world beyond the hotel walls.
