Green List Holidays

If you choose to visit a destination on the green list you will just need to be mindful of the following; You will need to take a pre-departure Covid test in your destination before you return home. After arrival back in the UK you will then need to take a test one or two days after arriving back in the UK. Please remember to ensure your PCR test is from a government-approved provider. There are no quarantine requirements once you have arrived back in the UK (unless you test positive for Covid).

Amber List Holidays

Visiting a country on the amber list will involve similar restrictions to the green list if you have been fully vaccinated. The second dose of the vaccination must have been administered at least 14 days prior to your date of departure. You will still need to complete a pre-departure Covid test and also one upon your return in England. You will not need to quarantine once you have arrived back in England (unless you test positive for Covid), this also applies to children under the age of 18. Children under the age of 18 will not have to self-isolate on return from amber list countries, or take a day eight test. Children between the ages of five and ten will no longer need to take a day two test and children four and under will be exempt from all testing.

Important Information

The UK government’s traffic light system is made up of green, amber and red destinations. The colour category a country falls into outlines the testing, self-isolation or quarantine requirements for when you re-enter the UK after travelling. It is important to note this traffic light system is for re-entry into the UK only – there may be separate entry requirements set by the country you’re visiting.
